Our History
Bikur Cholim of Cleveland was founded in 1988 by a group of volunteers who recognized the need for a community-based organization to serve the needs of Jewish sick patients and their families.
In 1994, Bikur Cholim was incorporated as a non-profit organization. Since its inception, Bikur Cholim experienced several milestone expansions:
Homes
- 1997: Purchased Shannon Road home; opened March 1998
- 2005: Zaidman home given for Bikur Cholim use
- 2010: Purchased Bendemeer Road home; opened October 2012
- 2017: Bikur Cholim Lakewood gives Blanche home for Bikur Cholim use
- 2022: Shannon Road home renamed as Dessler Guest Home in memory of Rabbi Nachum Zev z”l and Rebbetzin Miriam a”h Dessler)
