I'm From Out of Town
Jews from all over the United States and the world—from California to Israel to England—come to Cleveland for our top-notch, specialized medical care, often unavailable anywhere else.
We know it’s overwhelming enough to experience a medical crisis. But, needing to travel out of town for healthcare presents its own set of special challenges. “Where will I stay?”, “How will I find my way around?”, "Where can I get kosher food?" and “ Who can I turn to?” are often some of the first questions our out-of-town patients ask us before they arrive in Cleveland.
We want to be your friends and family while you are away from home. Our services are available
365 days a year, with services provided 24 hours a day. Our dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to provide you with access to the physical, emotional and religious support you need to make your healthcare journey easier and a lot less stressful.
Our services for out-of-town patients and their families include but are not limited to:
- Guest homes
- Kosher meals (weekdays, Shabbos, and Yomim Tovim holidays)
- Hospitality lounges at the major hospitals throughout Cleveland
- Medical equipment loans
- Advocacy services
- Visitation
- Transportation
- Translation services
- Shabbos transportation line
At Bikur Cholim, our work never feels like work to us. It is our calling. We are here for Jews all over the world, to stand beside you during your time of need.
“Even though we were far away from home, we had all the accommodations
to feel as if we were home.”
~
